ARCTech — Web Application Case Study

Web Application Design and development of a B2B — Request for Quote (RFQ) platform for Arctech.hk.

 

Client Overview:

Arctech is a HongKong based goods sourcing & forwarding company. The company’s customer base is spread accross 60+ countries. They help their customers to find the products from reliable sources, to do all the customization, product consolidation, factory audit, production monitoring, quality check, loading supervision, and export custom clearance.

The business objective of the company is to provide a one-stop solution to the business’s OEM / ODM requirements, and also to help e-commerce sellers to source various products suitable for their market and help them in consolidation and supply.

Problem Statement:

 

Being a sourcing facilitator, the company is getting inquiries from all over the world for product supply. The company has been using traditional method of communication such as Phone Calls, Emails, WhatsApp, Line Messanger etc. and the messages are distributed accross various platform and there was no any centeralised management. Moreover, the company is abide with government regulatory laws for accessing certain communication channels in it’s base country, thus they had to switch between multiple discussion methods.

With better communication channel, additionally, the company needed a central inquiry data system between their staffs too. So the new inquiries can directly be assigned to the concern staff member to communicate further, and the manager can have a glass over the discussion as well.

 

Requirements:

The company needed a web application to address the above problem statements in an effective way, so that it can save the time and the details will be centralised.

 

Solution Provided:

 

We, Ubrain Studios, are digital solution partners to Arctech. Looking to the method of communication they have been using, we undertood there are a few main pain points that need to be addressed;

1. It should be very easy for a customer to raise the inquiry through Arctech’s web platform.

2. There are multiple people working in the back-office at the company, so a dedicated resource to the specific inquiry should be allocated.

3. The communicated messages should be centralised on the platform, thus the admin/manager can have a clear idea about the discussion and current status of the inquiry.

Keeping this in mind, Ubrain team have build a web application at Arctech parent site through which, the customers can register and submitted the details of their new inquiry. We have build a section the the website for customer’s login.

The already registered customer will be able to login to portal with their details and he/she will be able to see old inquiries and communication in the same.

Here is the interface, the customer is seeing after login into the platform;

Customer’s own inquiries listed with product names.
Customer can add new inquiry into the panel.
Communication thread with Arctech back office team.
Detail of the product which customer has inquired for.

According to the Arctech, most of their customers are using this platform on the go. That means there will be a good percentage of traffic from Mobile/Tablet devices as well. Here is the Glimpse of the responsive mobile view of this platform;

Similarly for the backend, we have created a login panel for Arctech team where they can see customer list with inquiries and communicate with them in messaging thread. (the interface is similar to the customer interface, but inquiries listed customer wise instead of item name wise).

To achieve this simple but very useful web application, we have used technologies such as ReactJs, PHP, MySQL, Google Firebase

 

Conclusion:

After implementing this platform, the inquiry handling efficiency of the company has increased to 60% from the traditional way of communication. And for the customers it has becoming very easy to raise new item inquiries. The company started onboarding new customers from this panel as well.
